The main takeaway here is to focus on prototyping early and coming up with the mechanics first if you want to make a fun game. My approach was opposite so it resulted in a game that wasn't really fun.

Could you explain what the trigger parameter does? I didnt use it and the player still jumps. It just looks wierd like its not finishing the animation.

I would like to thank you for such a good tutorial that not only goes over the basics but also explains them in a way that anyone can understand. Other tutorials online just blab and introduce new words and functions left and right without teaching how the stuff works in the first place.

But how do you make that when you are going upwards in a jump the costume is diferent than when you are going downwards?
I didn't add this to this series but long story short: 1. You need two animations (for going up and down) 2. In the code you need to check if the player velocity on the Y is positive that means he's going up so assign that animation, and viceversa. Hope this helps.

Hey there! If you have the same problem as I had: In attack animation there is not working transition from attack to idle and you're still in attack after pressing it. The solution is easy, just add Exit Time to your transition (Attack -> Idle) and then set Exit Time to 0 in Settings.
i used the same code but my character falls dawn from wall with a bit of delay. it moves left first, for like 0.1 seconds, then starts to fall down. If anybody still here, can you help me with this?

If you guys decide to make bigger arrays of unlockedCars after your first time loading the script (first playerInfo.dat save instance) make sure to manually delete playerInfo.dat in the file explorer because the conflict of loading and saving happens and you get an out of bounds index error when trying to change cars in scene beacause SaveManager isnt making the carsUnlocked arrray bigger to accomodate for the new car.

guys, just a suggestion cuz i had nothing better to do: at 19:50, you can type transform.position += new vector3(speed * time.deltatime, 0, 0); for getting it a bit compact. same for leftMovement...

The second parameter for body.velocity is the velocity on the Y axis. We just put speed there for now, we're gonna change that to a new variable in the next episode.

Is the jump animation meant to repeat when you jump consecutively and not stop when you let go or start moving? Because that's what my unity is doing, is it because this is an older video?
Nope, that shouldn't happen regardless of your Unity version. Double check the part where we set up the animation parameters, if it's still the same DM me on Discord

Correction: Figured out the problem are not the iFrames. It has something to do with the Enemy itself. I glitch through a point behind his body. What's the problem?
Great tutorial, but I found duplicating the sprite/tile one by one to be a bit tedious. The asset I'm using also had gaps on the edges of the sprites. I found tilemaps to be a better solution when it comes to grounds and walls.

love this series! is there a way to make it so health auto regenerates after a certain amount of time instead of when getting collectables?
A basic timer will do the trick. Make a time variable somewhere, increase it by Time.deltaTime in the Update and when it becomes higher than X(let's say 120 seconds) increase the health and reset the timer.
11:42 When did the Transition Structure of the Animator change? I did not see you make a transition from Any state to both Attack and Jump. You only made it for Any State to Jump initially but now out of no where it's changed.
Hey if anyone sees this that can help I'm having an issue where I will take two damage if I get hit by two different enemies at once, it might be something covered later in the video but I noticed it where I am and I'm getting a bit stuck trying to find an answer.
